Many of you will have just received our newsletter in the mail. But, if you didn’t, we are including it for you here! This edition highlights how our teams in the USA and around the world are adapting to the COVID-19 and what lies ahead for Global Family & the Daughter Project.
It seems we have all been affected by the spread of the virus and have had to modify the way we live and work. While we were able to secure a date for our annual gala (now October 10th, 2020) in a few months’ time, the majority of what we do cannot be postponed. The children and families that we care for and serve are even more vulnerable now, and our teams are working extra hard to ensure we are able to provide the level of services needed (and deserved) including alternative therapeutic models, creative sessions and ‘in house’ activities, extra cleaning, ‘distancing’ and more.
Many of you responded to our appeal to provide food packets to daily wage earners around the city of New Delhi, India. We have been able to help over 600 families to date and still counting. These families live day-to-day and, without work, face starvation. When the girls in our shelter found out that many did not have masks to wear when picking up their food, they got to work and began making them!
Please take a moment to see what’s going on in the world of Global Family & the Daughter Project in our newsletter. We especially need YOUR HELP during this season… please consider a one-time or recurring gift today.
It means a great deal to the children and families we are privileged to serve.
