Burmese girls speaking to their peers
Recently, our coordinators in Chin State, Myanmar, heard of three girls who had been abandoned by their parents and no longer attending school. The girls are just 7, 9, and 13 years old. The local Daughter Project Club decided to investigate. They suspected the girls were in trouble, and they were right. They had been left with individuals who threatened the girls and forced them to work so they could not attend school with their friends.
Happily, the club members found a family who took the girls into their own home and committed to caring for the girls as their own children. The girls are doing well, they are happy and now regularly attending school!
Reports like these are the result of hard work and effective training. Our coordinators and club members need consistent training and support to be able to identify, research and restore children like these three daughters.
